Please bear with me as this is my first place on my own!
I was hoping to sign up to a provider like primus, but will this be possible?
The flat is very new, but has been lived in, and has a phone socket.
But i am assuming i will need to get the phone line reconnected?
Do i have to use bt for this? im assuming i do as i have no idea what the phone number would be for using an outside service!
Thanks for any help!

ok, slight update!
Managed to get through to BT, and they claim the line is disconnected.
They want £124.99 to reconnect the line, is this the only option?
They tried to get me to take out a package which was £27.99, which lowered the connection fee to £50, but you still have to pay £12 line rental so that would be £40 a month!
So i am guessing my only option is to pay BT then go with another provider? my BB is with orange and i was planning to stay with them for now as i only pay £5 per month for unlimited service.
My biggest problem is, when the line is reconnected will i get told what my new number will be by the engineer? As i cannot do anything without a number so im rather stuck atm!0 -
Anyone?
Not sure the best way to go, I can afford the 125 but it seems a bit of a ripoff!
You would think they would offer it free with a 40 a month phone/bb package!0 -
talktalk have a 79£ connection charge which they add on to your first bill.
telephone, line rental and broadband i think comes in about 18£ a month with talktalk too, so thats what we're doing - i move into a new flat in 2 weeks.
sadly though you can't get cashback as you have to ring them up!0 -
Why not just go for the £29.99 offer? That will sort your calls and line rental. Then place your broadband with a proper ISP.
