Jobseekers allowance and start date

Hello,
I've made a claim for job seekers allowance and interview was on the 5th May. They sent me a letter yesterday confirming how much they will pay etc.
My question is I've just seen a job advertised at my local theatre. I do voluntary work there anyway (which they know about). This job wouldn't start until August as end of June and all July is the closed season (where they do all repairs ect). If I went for and subsequently got the job, would they stop my allowance or would I need to keep seeking work? They did say in the interview that they keep paying up until the start date. Is this true?
Also, I don't really like being on benefits and was thinking that I could do something from home until the start date. Is there anywhere I could find jobs at home? Or do you have any suggestions as to what I could do to tide myself over until August?
Any help would be appreciated as I'm starting to run out of money.

Yes you can continue claiming JSA until the day before your start date at work.
You will have to continue job seeking as a requirement of claiming though so I suggest you look for somem temporary work and join some agencies.0
