Broken Playstation 3 "SOGA" query

Options
My original £450 Playstation 3 broke a week ago and I've been looking for answers and options ever since and have now come across the Sales of Goods Act. The Playstation broke due to the dreaded Yellow light of Death so this means that the console had a general hardware failure which is of no cause of mine. I purchased the Playstation in April, 2006 roughly. I still have the receipt and all of the original accessories and box. Oh and I purchased it from a local Blockbusters which I am still a member of. Does anyone have any suggestions? Do you think the SOGA will allow me to claim for a replacement from Blockbusters?

Thanks very much for any help

You could look at the european directive on electrical goods. It is possible you could be coverd up too 6 years. But you will have to double check. If it wasn't fit for purpose at the point of sale you have a good case.
If i could i would, but i cannot so i wont, but maybe one day i will.
