Originally, I was looking for a machine which would record, play and store TV programmes that are on too late for me. But I have realised that I just want to record
films and other drama programmes. I was told last week that it is possible to buy just a recorder. Is this correct? If so, does anyone know which is the best?
I gave my son my old TV and digi box ready for the change over and didn't realise how much I would miss being able to record on tape which was possible with that TV. The new TV is very smart and is white which is what I wanted but it is just a very modern TV.
I apologise if this is the wrong forum.

Easiest approach would be with a PVR, I'd recommend looking at Humax.
Or buy a DVD recorder, these tend to be a little more difficult to use than the old VHS machines.
