Thanks for all your messages I would like to point out when stating the co-operative group are a disgrace I am only giving my experience of the treatment I received. I received extremely bad treatment from branch level to manager, regional manager and customer service manager and was even treated dismisively by the head office. So I would assume that all the levels of this company have a very bad work ethic and therefore I use my experience to warn others not to use them.
I have since my mums funeral found a lot of other people who have had bad experience with this company and also feel that they have tried to dismiss their complaints and disrespect their families.
All I wanted was to warn others so it does not happen to them or their loved ones.

Wow what an arbitrary judgement of all co-operative funeral directors based on one experience. If I go into M&S and have one bad experience should I then tell everyone that all M&S staff are disgusting?

I have based my comments on the disrespectful treatment and the way they have failed to comply with their contract, the way they failed to uphold any of their promises and failed to give any customer care at any stage. It was not just one bad experience it has been the continued lack of service from the branch, manager, regional manager, customer service manager and head office not just on the terrible things that happened on the day of my mums funeral but the way they have treated myself and my family on the day and at every stage since.

    In what way specifically?

I used them for my stepfather's funeral which was fine. But there was a demand for payment a week afterwards for the removal of a headstone. That was insensitive to a grieving widow and they would have known about this charge BEFORE the funeral. I wrote telling them they should sort out their admin and they did apologise.

The whole company seem to be reluctant to comunicate regarding the situation they are passing my complaint around without any resolution. I wrote to the chief executive several times and all he does is pass it back to the person I wrote to complain about! There seems to be an air of if we leave it long enough it will go away. Not the way to run a business.

I am so sorry for your loss and the fact that such an important day went so wrong could have only added to your grief.
I have used Co-operative Funeralcare in Aldershot and to be fair they looked after us perfectly so I have to agree with the others who have suggested that we should not condem the whole business for the actions of a few.
There may be a very plausable explanation for the mistake that lead to the crematorium not being booked - most likely a simple human error that had profound consequences, but there can be no excuse for the poor level of care you have received since that initial mistake.
My prayers are with you and your family.......

Wouldn't be at all surprised if you don't WORK there too. Lot of that about on here lately. :rotfl:

I agree with you. However, I totally objected to Laz123's style of posting which has, unfortunately, detracted from comment about the OP's awful experience.

BLT was, I think, simply trying to make the point that not all of the co-op's undertakers give such poor service as the OP has endured.

So Laz didn't like BLT's post and you don't like Laz's post.

    Why bother?

Yes, at the Aldershot branch you were singing the praises of. Very common on MSE - recommending somewhere you have an interest in.

Someone complains about a shop or service and then a new user suddenly pops up to recommend it.

Firtly I just wanted to say Takoda, that I think you are out of order. We used the co-op funeral servce in September last year for one of our family, and we recieved a good service from them. Just because somebody posts that they have had a positive experience does not mean that you should suggest that they work there and are promoting them. May I just say to Anniered that my thoughts are with you.
    Best Regards

    zppp :)
