Catalogue returns through post office

Ordered some good through Great universal catalogue which i wanted to return last week, they keep messing me around regarding collection so was thinking of returning them through the post office, although the catalogue mentions they(The post office) may charge you for this - Does anyone know what this charge is and how much.

I assume its not for the postage as the returns label says postage paid.

Thanks

If the label is has postage paid on it, then the post office can't charge you for sending it back.

If you do send it through the PO though, don't forget to have your little receipt thing dated and stamped incase it goes astray :)

i think they only put that about charging you to encourage you to use their courier for returns as its cheaper for them. i have never been charged for using the post office. if youve been messed about by the courier then youve got a valid excuse for using the post office.

I have known a few smaller post offices to charge a handling fee (not a postage fee) and so the company is probably just covering themselves in case the PO does charge.

Certainly with the catalogue company I worked for it was better to go through the couriers because if the parcel did go missing then we could instantly track what occured based on the collection slip our courier gave you where as with the PO we had to ask for you to post the proof in to us and at times we had to go back out to the PO to query things with them making the process much longer

hi, im a manager of a post office and do not make charges of any sort, as long as there is a valid pre paid returns label on it.

Asteroth, if a post office charges u again i would ask why? they shouldnt be charging u a handling charge it should b completely free!
  • I always return my catalouge stuff through the Post office. You didn't mention if you had to pay for delivery? It's normally free returns either way if it's free delivery, charging you for delivery:rolleyes: rip off!
