Terms & conditions – Rules

1/Acceptance of these rules is a condition of entry and entry instructions form part of the rules. The promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who is deemed to be in breach of these terms.

2/The promotion is open to all UK and ROI residents aged 18 or over, excluding employees of Maplin electronics, any person professionally connected with this promotion and their immediate families.

3/One scratch card issued with every transaction undertaken at Maplin in store, online or via mail order, while stocks last. Maximum one scratch card issued per customer per day.

4/The promotion will be held from 21st April 2010 and closes on the earlier of the 18th June 2010 or the date when all scratch cards have been issued or all prizes have been allocated. Closing date for the redemption of winning scratch cards is Friday the 18th June 2010.

5/ Prizes are won by revealing 4 identical symbols on the scratch card to win that individual prize, all prizes are subject to availability. No correspondence will be entered into.

6/Maximum number of runner up prizes per branch, mail order customers and online customers of 100 each, comprising a range of bottle openers, LED key rings, LED card torch and pens. These prizes will be issued on a strictly first come first served basis on the production of a winning scratch card.

7/Scratch cards have no cash value and prizes are redeemable only in the outlet of issue or from head office in the case of online or mail order purchases. Contact details for head office are below.

8/The promoter shall be entitled to reject any winning scratch card if it has reason to believe that the scratch card has been tampered with, or is not provided in accordance with the terms set out in these competition terms.

9/Winners are responsible for the safe-keeping of their winning scratch cards. Proof of posting is not proof of delivery. Responsibility cannot be accepted for claims lost, damaged or delayed in the post.

10/Prizes are not exchangeable for cash or goods. The promoter reserves the right to substitute prizes for goods of a similar value.

11/The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend this promotion due to events arising beyond their control.

12/The promoter is not responsible for any third party acts or omissions.

13/Winners may be required to take part in reasonable publicity.

14/All main prizes to be issued from the promoter’s head office, address below.

15/The promoter accepts no liability in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise for any indirect loss, consequential loss, loss of expectation, loss of profit, loss of goodwill and reputation or disappointment suffered by the entrant as a result of (i) the entrant entering the competition and (ii) the entrant accepting the prizes.

16/These competition terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

17/Proof of posting will not be treated as proof of receipt. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries which are not properly received due to communications or other problems, including any entries lost, delayed or damaged in transit or for any associated costs. Any entries received that are damaged or illegible in the Promoter’s discretion will not be included. E & EO. All information was correct at the time of going to press, all trademarks acknowledged.

    The term 'no purchase necessary' refers to if a prize was won there would be no need to provide your receipt, but unfortunately they are only given out on conclusion of an order or purchase from a store.

    They have that very very wrong and can done by the ASA and ISP, NPN means there is a no pay route, they are leaving themsleves open to alot of trouble stating that then saying different.

    thought as much- v confusing, i guess they've re used soime t/c from a prrevious comp maybe..?
