Calling BT experts - BT bills crippling me! HELP please

Hi all, I am hoping you may be able to help me out as following signing up with BT last year for various products on the initial good offers they had, I now seem to be inundated with endless BT bills! Argh! Its certainly costing me a heck of a lot more than I anticipated.

1. BT Broadband = currently paying approx £15.99 mth
I split from my husband last year and moved to a rented place and wanted to get Broadband use, so went with BT's 3 month offer at (Cant remember exact price but was fairly good) and then after that the price goes up.

2. BT Vision Bronze package - basic one - Pay via DD at £26.50 per month - as do pick some of the pay to play films as I find the films that come with the package to not be very new at all.

I had an old TV and wanted freeview & some films etc so signed up with BT vision (again similar good offer to start with)

3. I have a BT phone line with free evening & weekend calls - The reason for this is was due to me paying out a fortune in 0845 numbers etc as O2- my mobile provider charge so much for these, so now I use my BT line for those. Latest Bill came to £26.37.

The thing I find difficult is that there seems to be constant bills coming through for BT, and its hard to keep track of them all. I know BT are apparently now in the process of combining all to 1 bill, but not yet had this done yet.

I dont feel Im getting much value for money and dont know where I stand in terms of say cancelling BT vision or changing broadband provider etc.

Any advice greatly appreciated. I really need to reduce my outgoings especially at the moment as im not earning enough.

Thanks all

To get all your services on one bill you can speed this up by calling 01324 452433 and asking for a bill merge.
Sounds like your in contract with BT for your services(18 month min if you got first 3 months reduced) so leaving them for another supplier may not be an option as you will probably get an early termination charge.
Still worth ringing BT Customer options team after your bills are merged (0800 800 030) and see what they offer you.

I have the same problem..currently paying £50 pm with BT broadband( as owed them arrears) have landline too..but am paying 320 pm for Sky..and my Orange mobile bill averages £60 pm..
I am thinking of putting it all into one package but have 18 month contracts on all due to end in next 6 months and I need a reliable broadband because I work from home a lot..I heard the Sky broadband is terrible..any advic?
I will post this elsewhere too:)

Hi, Thanks for the advice, will try and arrange that as you mentioned as would hopefully help me to at least keep track. I think I am on an 18mth contract from what I recall. It just feels as though ive been very foolish being reeled in on an offer that has ended up costing me alot more than I thought. I honestly feel like I have BT bills constantly coming through and even though I keep a monthly budget and try and make sure my incomings and outgoings are managed to the best of my ability, I am constantly being bamboozled by BT.

The trouble is the BT broadband is very good, never had problems, so its not that im not happy with it, just its costing alot.

    Cheers for the advice

I know exactly what you mean, I feel just the same as I also pay for my O2 bill which always seems to be 45-50 a month too, and It seems as though in trying to save myself money and get a good deal, ive actually made it worse.

If you are looking to stay with BT for your services just ring and ask for the bill merge. What you might also want to do is evaluate the package you are on at the moment. For example, how much was the charge to calling landlines on your last BT bill? Are you going over the 10gb usage on Option 1? Once you know what plan is best for you you can then bring your bills down. 3 direct debits would be a nightmare to keep track of that would be my main priority.

Cancel the TV when you can saves you a decent amount.

You are on free evening and weekend calls yet you still have nearly £15 a month in call charges? What sort of calls are you making, have you read the cost cuttinig article on the main website here?

You can slash your call charges by installing an Orchid V4 dialler off EBay :)
