Crisis Loan or something

I really really need help.
I'm in the throws of getting my Carers allowance and IS sorted out so I can care for my wife who is on higher rate of DLA.
However there has been hold up in the processing of the Carers Allowance due to the fact my employers cant generate my P45 till 26th May and they twice "lost" my march payslip.
Anyway - we're in rented accommodation, We get now full LHA and CTB, but we wont have enough to pay certain bills (private landlord) and electric water etc, and for food at the end of the month.
Is there anyway we could get some sort of a bridging loan until the IS and Carers allowance comes though
PS - we're not on pre-paid meters either.
Many thanks
W.

you can apply for a crisis loan but it isnt usually for much and will only cover you for a short time, you could apply for a budgeting loan but you have to pay this back0

Income Support aren't obliged to wait until your Carer's Allowance is sorted out ... they can process and pay your claim so long as you've given them the information they need. So I'd phone Income Support New Claims and find out when they're going to pay you.
(they may say they can't pay until Carer's Allowance make a decision ... that is wrong ... they can pay and "perform an abatement" at a later date ... tell us what they say Monday and we can better advise you).
Crisis Loan ? Yes, you can apply for a Crisis Loan as an "alignment to benefit". Make your money last as long as you can, then phone the Crisis Loan application line. They're very, very busy so phone as early in the day as you can. They should be able to tide you over until your benefit gets sorted out.I no longer contribute to the Benefits & Tax Credits forum.0 -
Thanks for that advice - I'll call them first thing on Monday and let you know the outcome in due course0

He can't get a budgeting loan as he hasn't been in receipt of one of the qualifying benefits for 26 weeks or more.
tcr has given you excellent advice.0 -
I don't want to be the bearer of bad news wardie and I can't swear to it but if you've just finished work you might also struggle with IS without the payslips as the JCP won't have any idea when you were last paid and if it was £100 or £1000. Is there any way your former employer can provide you with a letter detailing the past couple of months wage details and confirmation that you're no longer in work?I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0

Yes i dont see any reason why you wouldnt be able to claim a criss loan, they have to be repayed weekly from your benifit and they will only pay what they decide you can live on and will only pay for a short period. But i'd give them a try0

You can still claim a community care grant if you are waiting or are going to be receiving benifit.0
