Stilernin, would you recommend the growbags in half instead of containers?? I've got 36cm containers ready for mine but now thinking the growbag will allow more room.

Also I have about 8 young plants on the go, looks like I'll be having a lot of courgette soup, roasted courgette, erm, might need to pop to the old style board for some recipe ideas!!
Ahhhh.... lemony fresh victory is mineee!!!

I just keep thinking of how many courgettes I could actually buy in the shops when you add up compost / grow bags etc LOL
Yes, you've hit on the main reason grow bags and growing things in pots, aren't very often financially worthwhile.
One of the reasons I encourage people to grow in the ground instead of pots, if they possibly can.

And courgettes are quite expensive compared to potatoes....

I think it is a close call between them both. It would depend on the volume of compost in each. Greater volume of compost = more roots = bigger plants.

Some people put growbag compost into containers because it has added fertilizer (which has to be supplemented after a few weeks).

You could try a few in each system and see what happens. Every year is a learning curve for us all.

It's really too cold and windy to plant them outside yet. I'd repot them into a bigger pot temporarily and keep the compost a little drier.
