In answer to your question, I certainly would not pay money to leave a message on a website, plenty of free ones.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

There are a range of ways to fundraise, they all appeal to different types of people.
Back to your queries. Are you targetting individuals or companies to leave the messages?
I wouldn't pay as an individual, and I can't think of too many companies that would either. It would depend on the content - what are the comments related to? Why would people visit, and therefore what are the comments going to be about, and are they worth me paying to speak, or to read?
Think along the lines of 'Thank You' messages - which would clearly be targeted at individuals. However, businesses might pay to leave messages to push their brand - naturally in the usual subtle way.
The main reason would be getting money to charity, giving back and saying thank you. That's why posting the comments elsewhere would not achieve the same objective.
It would be my hope to use the few contacts I have to get it recognised in a number of areas.

I think I can see the kind of thing you mean.
It's something that people might do, but I think there may be a few things out there not dissimilar, which are run by charities themselves.
I'm not trying to put you off, it may well work, but a concern would be that the cost of promoting the site, and building the usage would mean that not a lot could go to charity.
Again, it might work, but it's probably not something I'd personally go for.for more info check out www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk . You'll find me there.
New Year's Resolution: Post less unnecessary posts. (and that was 2007)
yes, I realise I may appear cold and heartless a lot of the time.0 -

Thank you for the comments.
I haven't seen anything too similar, but then maybe I have not yet looked hard enough.
I'm not sure if people would actually go for it, I'm finding it really difficult to not be judged before even being given a chance to explain my reasons.
You shouldn't worry about seeming like you're trying to put me off, I haven't been and I hope I won't be. Ultimately, I want to do something it's just a matter of refining an idea that is both cost effective and in demand. That's why I'm trying to research now.
I actually have quite a few contacts that would be willing to provide a good amount of free assistance. Including a PR firm and an ex-management consultant who is now involved in several community projects. The website building and hosting costs can also be covered - as in done free of charge. I'm sure I could arrange the members of my student association to also put in some effort in raising awareness.
I think the best way to actually get a good response may be to set a target for something specific. Such as local to me the charity I am mainly interested built a unit costing £1m.
Out of interest, what would you be interested in supporting and by what means?0 -
