ipod touch reset

Hi, I just got a second hand ipod touch 16gb 1st gen and i want to remove all the songs and memory on it, but i updated it last night from itunes (which i had to pay £2.99 for).

I was just wondering if i reset it now will i have to buy the update again ?

Sorry, don't understand what you paid £2.99 for.

You got the iPod second-hand, you downloaded iTunes onto your PC or mac, connect the iPod to the PC/mac and when the iPod is recognised, you use the 'restore to factory settings' button in iTunes.

I payed £2.99 for the update, I was wondering if i reset the ipod will i have to pay for the update again or will i still be able to use the one i bought last night ?

If you reset the iPod, it will reset with the latest firmare you have.

I think you may find there is a nominal charge to upgrade some of the first 1G touches but as this is a firmware upgrade then there is no need to worry about it going if a full reset is needed as it will then be registered has having this upgrade and all future ones should be free.

Funny, I can't see where I said they had not paid, I was just explaining that was what the charge was for.
