A little dazed and confused

My partner and I are first time buyers, and have just had a crazy offer accepted on a house! There is no chain, and the seller wants the sale completed within 5 weeks, which my Mortgage Advisor suggest is not impossible.

I obviously need to instruct a solicitor and have heard mentions in other posts about online ones.

Has anyone used any of these, with either positive or negative feedback and reccomendations.

Thanks
M

Your mortgage advisor will know how quickly your particular mortgage company work. There are lenders that can work at that speed and if that is a priority tell your advisor to find one that can do it. Is your mortgage advisor independent or is he tied to one (slow) company?

    He's independant I believe

He said it was no problem from his end completingwithin 6 weeks, but it was the solicitors that may hold things up.

Don't use online solicitors. Find a good recommended solicitor, and get the searches in order straight away. If the searches come back unsatisfactory, you can get indemnity insurance to cover it.
