If they are living to a very tight budget and checking the account constantly surely they would know how much they had before the cheque went in, so in turn know how much they had afterwards available to spend.
Why tie up a very stretched organisation with a complaint that has no merit? If you cant be bothered to read the T & C's dont sign the form saying you bloody well have0 -

I think we should mind our language.
The complaint does have merit, in my view. I don't expect banking sympathisers to agree with me, however.
Stretched ! :rotfl:. Only their wallets, I think.
My advice to the OP remains the same: COMPLAIN

Sorry DAD!!
I am not in anyway a banking sympathiser but there are many people who have been wronged by the banks and banking system whos complaints have merit unlike this one and tying the FOS up with this is wrong in my opinion.
We are not going to agree but maybe i should try SHOUTING aswell0 -
I happen to think you're wrong.

It is a well-known fact on this forum, if people (due to some error by bank, wages, refund etc.)
receive too much money in their account, they “never notice it”.
Mind you, if they miss some money, they will notice it instantly.
It’s called ‘selective financial vision’.

I am afraid I do suffer from 'selective financial vision’, but I had not noticed for a few days, and as someone said, I was only checking the log on screen for available funds, I guess I will just 'suck it up' and get on with it, thank you!BSC 343 - AD March 2012
