New Laptop & 2 threats

Need some help.

Got a new laptop Samsung R530 and had it just over a month. On Thursday went on facebook and tried to watch a video someone had posted. However, my anti malware told me there was 2 threats, so I closed it down and did a full anti malware scan and avast scan. avast was ok but anti malware detected to files that were threats so told it to get rid of them. Did another full scan and everything ok.

today went to back up my files and the screen went funny, images distorted etc. I am able to get onto internet and look at my docuements but the screen keeps going funny. I have not dropped the laptop at all and need to know what I should do now?

I have done a system restore and the screen is still distorted - what can it be?
