Maternity Allowance eligibility

Hi,
My wife and I are planning a second baby and are trying to figure out what if anything we will qualify for. I work full time and my wife is a full time mother to our first child of 18 months.
Am I right in assuming that as she has been out of work, we will not qualify for maternity allowance?
Thanks for any advice...Chris

Yes - Maternity Allowance is based on having been in employment for 26 weeks during the qualifying period (66wks prior to EDD).
She may be eligible for JSA (up to 11wks prior) and then Income Support (11wks prior to 15wks after) depending upon your income. With you working fulltime, I suspect you might find the entitlement however is a big fat zero. Sorry!:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls
