Help Loan for woman on benefits
Comments
-
Hi
As she is on income support rather than incapacity benefit she could apply for a 'budgetting loan' from the Social Fund. She should be able to get a form from the local job centre, I have forgotten the number but it is a green form. If she has no outstanding crisis loans etc she may be able to borrow up to £1000. There is no interest and if they say yes she will have to pay it back out of her benefits, it would be deducted at source

On benefits or retired?
I make it clear that i am disabled AND on benefits, the only people to turn me down in the last 11 years were argos, after a complicated discussion they gave me a £2500 credit limit, other than that i have £17,000 worth of credit avaliable on a number of cc and £8k of loans. But to be fair i have a AAA credit rating and have never missed a payment on anything ever.0 -

Cant wait for DC to step in and take the smug smirk off their faces :j
As income support is acknowledged as the minimum amount you need to live on then neither DC nor god can step in and reduce it by a single penny.0 -
When I was on benefits I found Lombard Finance to be very helpful and reasonable and I had a loan from them.
I also had no trouble getting credit cards, it depends on your credit rating rather than the source of your income.
Some very judgemental people on here:("there are some persons in this World who, unable to give better proof of being wise, take a strange delight in showing what they think they have sagaciously read in mankind by uncharitable suspicions of them"(Herman Melville)0 -

no one should ever judge anyone else situation, if you have never been there.
and no one should think they are better than anyone else.
first time on here and theres rage and hate in some replies, .....why?0 -
I think jann that everyone replies as they see fit and on what has happened to them, as its a public forum I just ignore the "rage" replies. But folk are entitled to their opinions, good or bad, rage or hate!

Those of you who know people on benefits getting more than they should; why not drop them in it with the fraud section??
It gives those of us on benefits looking for work a BAD NAME!! It's tough bringing up children on benefits, so we don't need others cheating the system making it harder still.
I got told by the jobcentre they would love to hand out jobs like they used to; now it's so complicated. Or make them do voluntary work to earn what they do get; they never know they might be offered a job.
As for a loan either social fund loan, or try her bank they might be able to do something for her. Make an appointment to see someone, explain everything.0
