Why does she need a loan?
No reputable lender will lend to her on benefits.

Getting a loan is not a wise move. Even if she was highly paid. Avoid loans at all costs

surely someone on benefits wouldn't be in a position to service a loan?

Could she not get a social loan, otherwise known as a budgeting loan. My brother is on income support and he got one recently when he moved.

They take the money back directly from your benefit and I believe it's interest free.

Link to direct gov page with inf on budgeting loans.

So when you apply for stuff what status do you put on the applications?
    On benefits or retired?

I got a catalogue, loan and credit card when I was on income support when I was 18 - 20. I can't remember what I put, there isn't usually a box for "on benefits" though so it would have either been retired or unemployed.

OP - try your local credit union. Ideally, your sister would not need a loan so encourage her to ensure she borrows as little as possible and to ensure she really does need the money now.
