hi,
I havent had a battery for months and months as it stopped charging. I have a Dell 1501 Inspiron laptop and I am now looking to buy another as I hate that I have to disconnect everytime I want to move. I have priced them up through Dell themselves and they said £80, a computer shop locally stated £50 both seem really expensive. Can anyone recommend somewhere to buy a new battery, I'm worried about using Ebay for this type of thing as I cant afford for it to stop working in 6 months.
Thanks
Jen

Laptop batteries are expensive and don't last long. That's the way it is, I'm afraid. There are techniques (Googleable!) for prolonging their active life, but they will die in a year or two.
I would suspect that most laptops are actually always connected to the mains...0
