Ah OK, I thought the OP was talking about food only, but having re-read the post I see I was wrong. In which case I guess we spend about £250 on equivalent items.
The OP also includes booze in the price !I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. I am not in the slightest bit confused and I dont think that fresh meat/fish and veg everyday is extravagant, each to there own though
Each to their own I agree!
I do try to shop in Lidl (no Aldi up here) but find us popping into Tesco or Coop for some other bits! I also use local butcher.
We have meat 5/7 days a week, though sometimes from the freezer (decent local meat from butcher which has been frozen by me).
We don't drink or smoke.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

I cant really afford it! I just find that food costs more money than it used too and then when you add toiletries and cleaning products and loo roll etc, it bumps it up.
In my mind being extravagant is eating steaks and lobster every day which I dont do.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Okay, think I will make this my challenge for next month (already have the freezer full for May) only way to find out I guess is giving it a go, only thing I can see a problem is the lottery tickets and Saturday newspaper, so from 25th May will let you know how it goes and if I cave in within the first week.0

Thanks, I thought that was just for how much you planned to spend , not so much the challenge of sticking to one shop.0 -

I don't think you will save a lot of money by shopping at Aldi or Lidl. They are not so cheap as used to be few years ago...0
