breakdown renewal

Hi
I hve just received my renewal for AA breakdown membership which includes breakdown , relay ,personal cover for me & wife , paid £100 last year with £50 cashback so net £50
Renewal charge for AA £141 ! ,phoned and they dropped to £84
Question is could I chose not to renew my AA membership
Then my wife join as a new AA member and me as named driver therefore would get cashback dropping same cover to < £50 ?
Or would AA see this as a renewal as same address ?
