Hi everyone
Has been a grey and dismal day here, weather wise I mean, although my mood matches that too.
OH went off for work about 4 this morning, am not really sulking but thought if we had a week off it would include both weekends! Don't like it when he works weekends 'cos I am a bit of a betty-no-mates here, no-one to visit and only phone calls to him and family, won't speak to a person face to face till I am back at work on Monday.
Still, shouldn't feel sorry for myself, loads worse off than me.
Went to the library this morning, then into town, with my trusty wally trolley, have read one book already and think I might do some more crochet squares tonight.
Have made curry for tea tonight and got a couple of onion bahjis and some naan bread while I was out, too much faff to make them for just me.
Did some washing which is hanging miserably round the place now, didn't do a lot else, am going to have a mini blitz tomorrow so I can then get back into my routine on Monday. As our place is small I do an abridged version of flylady, Monday kitchen, Tues bathroom, Weds is hoovering all round plus dusting etc in the hall, Thurs is bedrooms, 1 bedroom is only used everyother weekend so only gets done the thurs before, Friday sitting room so its nice and tidy for weekend, weekend only do what has to be done :rotfl:of course I do washing and any daily things each day....well some days I do
Celyn - don't feel bad giving her the bill for the materials, as Jackie said, she would have know how much a cake like that would cost. As she is only paying for the materials, she should realise just how much your present to her cost
MancMillyMolly - glad you enjoyed Peter Kay, we went to see him on Wednesday and my sides have just stopped aching from all the laughing
NPM - hope you are managing to have a chill out day, and love your headress,veil/tiara....whatever - you know what I mean, love the head thing lol its so soft looking but stunning.
enjoy the rest of the weekend xxxwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Hi Everyone
Well we have now moved to Sandringham to meet up with my DNephew his Dwife and the DGNeice & DGNephew. They are such a lovely family, and DGNephew is only just 1 so I borrowed his pushchair to lean on and push him. He was very good until he got hungry and then wanted to fight sleeping. He is a great little eater, and has a gorgeous smile. DNeice who is 7 is so good with him never begrudges sharing anything with him. Yesterday evening we went into Hunstanton and we treat us all to F&C in a restaurant, she had a childs meal which included strawberry ice cream, and he must have had half with her, as well as some of her drink, as his cup had fell out of Mum's bag into the boot. Today we have been around Sandringham House and Gardens, very nice, and although it has rained it has been light, but has just come heavier now we are back in the 'van. Popped into Tesco as was out of bread and got a cooked chicken for tea, with potatoes and veg I have in the fridge, so semi OS. And bought a rhubarb crumble for afters, did bring some HC with us, but running out now. Back not bad as long as I keep taking the tablets! and keep it warm.
Will get back to more OS when we get home on Monday.

Helllo :hello:
I'm back (sidles in quietly).
Spent the last week fighting "the lurgy" - D and V etc and shivering for England._pale_
Nice to hear from penny pincher and diva and hugs to NPM and anyone else who could use one.
Think we have finally sold the house ( buyer wants completion on 21st) and have nowhere we want to buy or any suitable places we could rent.
Persuaded DH to ask a neighbour whose house is for sale and empty if we could use that for a month or two so we do not lose the sale - and he agreed :j Have also told DH that if we get this house sold we need to be proactive and letter drop houses we like and ask if they were considering selling in the near future. Got the "Yes, Dear" response so will hold him to it.
DD(24) home for a week or so and spent today at Monk's Cross with her and her 16 year old sister to get clothes, cosmetics, sunglasses for driving and a look at prom dresses. Got sunglasses half price at Boots with a voucher you got if you spent a fiver, had a nice lunch and really enjoyed the day.
Shattered now so putting my feet up and having a browse on here."This site is addictive!"

Evening all,
has been a beautifully sunny day but cold as charity outside, so very little done except to water greenhouse.
Stairs hoovered, Kerry has adopted the landing window as her observatory which means that stairs gets so dusty, will be glad when I can let her out again, she is spending far too much time inside.
Brother off to Sardinia to-morrow, if ash doesn't disrupt flights, apparently this state of affairs may last for months...hate hassle so hopefully the pundits are wrong.
Knitting a scarf at present, to be donated to charity and sold in their shops...name won't come but its a well known international charity...really having a senior moment on this one.
NPM....that fascinator looks lovely, hope that you will manage to have a relaxing day to-day.
Watched tennis again while knitting this afternoon....Jancovic beaten having beaten both the Williams sisters this week.
Hugs to all in need or want to-day, sorry to hear that you are in so much pain PenPin, glad to see you posting.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend

Evening All
So cold here today that I put the heating on for a couple of hours - I even wore my fleece jammys last night and used the hot water bottle:eek:
And the forecast is that is getting colder next week
Eye is still sore and knees have really been hurting since last night - might have guessed rain was on the way:(
DH took me to Hemel Hempstead today - Managed to get two pairs of lined curtains same size (90 x90) in a gorgeous Magenta for the dining room and front room in B&M would you believe total cost £39.98 (£19.99 a pair):j DH spotted them and we both loved them which is a rarity.
The ones that I was going to get were £150 a pair:eek: so I am a very happy bunny:D:D:D.
HM Cream of Mushroom soup with HM crusty bread for dinner tonight just what we all needed to warm the bones

Oh joy washing machine has died (mind you it's 13 years old so done a fair bit of service!) and the toaster has died too. Any bets on what's next to go to the big electrical store in the sky :rotfl:
Fortunately a friend of my H is selling a WM and it's only 18 months old so depending on whether he lives in a hard water area (we are soft) we might consider buying his.
Made my cream and nutella buns - very nice they are too
Anyone heard how Diva is doing??
Celyn - I agree with the others. If she can afford £7K on photos then she can afford to pay you for your time and your costs. I had to read the figure twice though  As much as I love my wedding pics (and I think they are fabulous) the reality is as time goes by you do stop looking at them every week so I consider £7K to be a bit of a waste of money.
Pen-pin - Please feel free to continue with your narrative - not boring to me in the slightest and if it distracts you from being uncomfortable then carry on I sayHope the pain eases soon xxx
Hester - I am sure you'll fit in some "quality" time together at some point
sistercas - well done to your DD :T Perhaps a future barrister in the making :rotfl:I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Evening everyone
I just don't know where the days are going. Has been sunny here today so managed to get 2 loads washed and dried.
Have spent all morning sorting, ironing, taking pictures and loading items onto turbomaster to put onto ebay tomorrow. Trying to get rid of the clutter before my move south at the end of July.
Have managed to make appointments with schools for a week on monday/tuesday, bit worried as after DS2 annual review they gave me the test results for his literacy and he is now over 4 years behind his age group. I am worried that the new schools in a different LEA may say that they can't meet his needs. The specialist teacher has said he has got dyslexia and dysphraxia, but the diagnosis is for adhd, although school doesn't think this is the main problem. The results school gave me last year were incorrect according to the specialist teacher. It hasn't helped that he had nearly 3 months off school with a broken leg at the end of last year and they managed 4 hours tuition per week. Anyway I need to stop this getting to me, I just worry about him so much.
Not alot of os today apart from the decluttering again, a bit of shopping and cleaning. Must do better.
NPM - Love the head piece for your wedding. Hope you managed to get some rest today.
Celyn - I agree that you should charge for your time as well as the cake if she can afford that much on photo's ( my photo's are costing me £550).
Penpin - Hope your pain eases. I had my 1st attempt today on turbolister(I got very confused at parts)
JackieO - well done to your dd.
sistercas - well done to your dd too.
Bitsy - sorry to hear that you have problems with your wm and toaster. If your wm is anything like mine it is never off.
Diva - Hope you are ok.
Well I hve better take myself to bed. Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take Care.
