Please can someone help me solve the mystery of my tree please..?
It is about 8 ft tall and has never had fruit (since we moved here 5 years ago) but it looks from what info I can find like a weeping crab apple!?
Is there anything I can do to help it fruit if it is an apple , or do I need another apple tree, if indeed that is what it is!:o Took these photos last april..the flowers havent opened this year yet!

It looks like an apple, although I'm far from an expert on trees.
I would have thought it should have its blossom out by now though!
What happens to the fruit, do they form on the tree and then drop off?Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Think it might be a 'Spring Snow' crab apple which is sterile, lots of flowers but no apples, maybe a bit late this year due to a longer than average winter for where you live.
lovely looking tree

That would explain it ..thankyou:D. Yes everything is very late this year in the garden. My cherry trees have only just started to blossom too! I still have a few daffs!
Lotus eater, there has never been any sign of fruit at all which is what has caused me the confusion:o
I didnt know there was such a thing as a sterile tree either:DJAN GC- £155.77 out of £200
