They would have fun with me....I have several different usernames and personas! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
I once applied for a job (several actually) and didn't get it. I think that's called LIFE!Barclaycard 0% - [STRIKE]£1688.37 [/STRIKE] Paid off 10.06.120

They dont HAVE to employ you if you are not suitable for the job. And they are allowed to re advertise if they dont find a suitable candidate.Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0

Another trick is to use other peoples generic handles from one board for yours on another.
Linking your real life persona to an on-line one is madness unless you need to.
good advice. i'm not really a daveMartin has asked me to tell you I'm about to cut the cheese, pull my finger.0 -
I am absolutely LIVID with rage at the moment over a hotel chain who rejected me for a role I applied for - without any feedback whatsoever. And then, on the SAME day I recieved their rejection, I saw them advertising the SAME post - a receptionist role - on a jobsite!
What on earth do these employers want? Do you all think it was because I am a man and not some pretty blonde thing with nice legs and painted up dolls face? In other words, do HR depts favour females to males for reception work?
Don't you think is quite despicable the way these employers treat us jobhunters? If there weren't so many people out of work, they could not afford to be so choosy, and so would be glad of your application.
Swines!
I dont think that its a case of not being good enough, you werent what they were looking for. Maybe you hadnt had the relevant experience of cash handling, hotel booking software or something like that.
Stop being livid, you'll end up with an ulcer with all this anger.
Just move on, something will come along and you'll be glad you didnt get it.
Good luck.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Do you have any reception experience? All you've said is you're a man. That doesn't give any indication as to whether you would be any good or not.
The hotel is a business. It's not obliged to give a job to anyone who wants one - it will give a job to a suitably qualified candidate! You obviously didn't meet their criteria. Better luck with the next application.0 -

Perhaps they are not very adventurous and cannot see how your personality would fit the role of receptionist?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Okay so you are a man. But you never said if you have relevant reception experience.
The job is being re-advertised because they hadn't found what they were looking for. Nothing personal ...there were probably 100s applying who got the same rejection letter like you. Try again.0 -
I used to work on a hotel reception and Im certainly not a dolly bird with long legs and painted face!
We did employ men - several of them in fact! Dont take it personally - just move on.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
Perhaps they wanted someone who can insult their guests grammatically, and knows that 'swine' is both singular and plural?May NSDs 10/11 (Feb 8/10, Mar 11/10, April 11/11)May save on lunches challenge 12/18 (Feb 16/16, Mar 20/20, April 18/18)0
