Kitchen installation - fair quote?

Hi, I've ordered a new kitchen. It's from Howdens so the carcasses come assembled.
Kitchen is U shaped, 3m x 3.4m. Roughly 10 base units and 6 wall units. Worktops will be Iroko.
I was quoted £900 for a dry fit - and will do the plumbing and tiling myself. I've got him down to £700 now, he's done some work for me before and seems to know what he's doing, but this was much more expensive than I had imagined.
Is this a fair quote? I'm in Sussex. Thanks

Also how difficult is it to fit this myself?
I'll happily use a carpenter to cut and install the worktops - but is it difficult to fit the cabinets. doors & handles myself and trim down the quote?0 -
The difference between a good kitchen and a bad kitchen is not the units but the fitter. A good fitter will make a cheap kitchen look excellent and a bad fitter will make a good kitchen look terrible and it will be like that for years to come.
I'm not suggetsing for one second that you are incompetent, but sometimes it is worth spending a bit more to get a decent finish. 16 units including plinths, coving light pelments, masons mitres, holes for sink / hob etc. is best part of a weeks work, ao £700 is a good price.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
you have a fair price there indeed, are you a bit tight?0
