Hi folks,
I have currently been building myself a new supa duper PC system. Included in this is a Terratec Dual Tuner Digital TV card 2400model. This is my problem .....
As I live in a flat I connected up my PC TV dual tuner card to our communal aerial and I've had no luck with it .... When Win XP MCE scans for services I get no signal pickup ie ... I receive no services. I am not in a position to replace or request a replacement for the communal aerial so I am now limited to an INDOOR aerial setup. Here are the details.....
(1) the communal aerial is an analogue one setup in the 80s.
(2) I have already tried an old booster unit I had in my junk electrical odds and sods box. No luck
(3) Upon entering my postcode in the MCE setup TV stuff I get 3 transmitter stations identified ... I have tried all three with no luck.
So now I am considering getting a very good quality indoor digital aerial alongside a digital booster. So advice on the BEST digital aerial to buy (under 30quid approx) and appropiate booster unit for digital signals (max around 20quid) will be much appreciated.
Hope you folks can give me some useful advice....
Jules

If you can get regular TV off your communal aerial I would expect that you should receive at least one of the freeview multipexes, probably the BBC ones.
I would beg borrow or steal a regular TV and freeview box and try those first.
IMHO most indoor aerials are a waste of money, a booster will simply amplify the noise. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Problem now sort of fixed. Poor connection on the wall. Just rewired the connector and hey presto it worked.
Now I get an audio device error in Media Centre .... Why is nothing easy and straight forward?
Thanks anyway
