RBS 0% cheques and no BT fee

My friend has had a letter from RBS with a 0% and no balance transfer fee until Feb next year.
There are also cheques with this.

Looking at the small print on the letter, it appears you can put these straight into a non-RBS current account on the same terms.

Would that be correct, is it as simple as that?

Sounds like it - someone 's reported Natwest have made them the same offer - they're all part of RBSG so seems likely.

Could be doing with that deal myself, have a dormant Natwest card doing nothing at the moment.

One thing I'd better ask as he has just told me.
He has a current balance on the card of around £3,000.
He pays it off in full EVERY month.

How should he approach this one?
Firstly, I've asked him to pay the full balance right now, which he can.

He has until the 26th of this month to use the cheques.

    cheers
  • He will need to pay off the balance make sure it is showing at £0 before he uses one of those credit card cheques and then not use the card at all.
You shoud never spend on a card that has a 0% if he has any other credit cards tell him to use them instead for all his spends.
