web hosting / image hosting - what do you use?

Ive tried the method of putting pictures into my description via preview description but found it too long winded. I prefer listing via turbo lister and now pay seller sourcebook per quarter (about £4.50) for web hosting. I find this is quicker and I get nice backgrounds and designs.

Is there anything better out there then?

  • Have you tried Auctiva it's all free!

I particularly like the scrolling Auctiva store window that you can add to the top or bottom of your listings to promote other items that you are selling.

Woohoo! I'm normal! Gotta go tell the cat.
  • I use Photobucket to host my pics, then I make my listings in Turbo Lister, then I add the Auctiva scrolling store window thingy.

I use Photobucket to host my pictures.

As a note, I find Auctiva very annoying. The scrolling is clever, but sometimes takes too long to load, especially pictures, and now I tend not to bother using them (as a buyer.) As a seller, I don't want my listings cluttered.

If I want to see the sellers other items, I will click the link in the top right hand corner :)

I use Imageshack.us for image hosting.

I make my own templates (which can be found here erns-eporium.co.uk/templates.htm )

These are put together with an HTML editor. I use Turbo Lister for listing, the HTML is copied into the TL HTML view.

I find that this method is quick and am able to keep the costs down.
  • Thank you all! Will check out all recommended!

For image hosting I actually use my online photo album site, smugmug, but I pay for their service. I have just started using Auctiva. One great feature I like it the free scheduling of auctions, so I can do the auctions over the weekend and get them posted up on ebay weekday evenings all automatically through auctiva.
