Lump sum to invest

I have a large lump sum to invest. Does anyone have any sound advice as to what is best way to invest this please?

I know this sounds really boring but you do need to see an advisor (get recommendations from friends and family).
You need to take into account your attitude to risk.
Probably the best solution is a balanced portfolio of investments split between cash, equities and property.
The exact balance will depend on how long you can tie the money up for and your attitude to risk.
Also consider paying an advisor (and getting their commission rebated).
Lots of people don't like paying up front so go for free advice, but they pay much more in the long run.
I paid an advisor for an ISA reccomendation - It was £100 plus VAT. I've had about 3 times as much as that rebated in lieu of the advisors commission.
Also consider paying off debts if you have any.
This is very general advice but usually you are better off paying off debts than investing.0 -
