SKY + what is the cheapest deal?

I really want to get Sky+ but am put off by the extra £10 a month you pay for virtually nothing...
I currently just have the family pack and don't want any other channels really.
Has anyone else had this problem, cos if you got family pack only you gotta pay £10 extra for the privelige of using Sky+ even though you pay more for a box.

I had same problem
Am also on the family pack, they said cheapest deal was to get multiroom. I said that's not suitable for me as I live alone so the extra box would hardly be used....0 -
You can have the Family Pack (£19.50) and Sky+ (£10.00) =£29.50
But you can get Family Pack plus a Premium channel for £30.00 =an extra 50p per month and free Sky+ subscription.
I must say that Sky+ is awesome,it's just a shame they don't do a lifetime subscription for £199,like they do for the Tivo.Sponsored by Tesco Clubcard Points !!0 -
Thats right, it does suck a bit as I don't want a movie channel, but to take advantage of sky+ you seem to have to.
£10 extra a month for Sky+ is a lot, £120 year can almost buy you a DVD recorder, which would be the other option although not as good!0 -

But aren't there any other premium channels you do want? Without trying to defend sky in any shape or form this is still a fairly good deal considering ....
1. When Sky+ first came out you had to pay an extra £10 no matter what package you were on. At least now they can pretend that you get something for that £10.
2. You get 2 tuners over the standard digibox which means you can record 2 channels and watch something you've recorded earlier.
Just to point out though that I cancelled sky because they wouldn't give me the upgrade to Sky+ for £99 and wanted me to pay ~ £240 over the year for it in addition to the package subs. So now I'm quite happy with the 5 main channels, Tivo and will at some point fix my aerial so I can get Freeview.

Did some work before christmas for a company who install sky systems on behalf of sky.I asked the owner to do me a deal on a sky+ box.His advice was to hang fire as sky were going to start offering them free early in the new year.Dont know if he was telling the truth or not so dont all slag me off if it dosn't happen.0
