Jet Airways Child's Meal?

Hiya,

We're due to fly to Thailand with Jet Airways in a couple of weeks. Our four year old is a pretty fussy eater at the best of times, and I've heard the standard meals are quite spicy on Jet Airways.

They offer a child's meal option, but I'm not sure whether it would be better to just take a packed lunch for him...

Has anyone had any experience of the child meal options on Jet Airways? If so, what sort of food was provided?

Thanks in advance!

I would make some sandwiches to cover yourself. If your child likes the meal then have the sarnies later :)

It's better IMHO to have them and not need them, rather than have an unhappy child for hours left until landing :)

Yes, good point! I'll definitely take a bag of goodies for the plane. We're going away for a month, so the more familiar the flight out the easier it'll be for him too I suppose.

It's just if I knew he definitely wouldn't eat the kid's meal, I'd be tempted to just get another adult's meal to share with OH - I always get ravenous on planes lol!

Travelled with Jet a number of times and they do provide non-spicy meals (never had childs meal but would imagine it would be the same).
Pre-booked food before the flight and when joined their "air miles" scheme it is now automatic.
Flying with them next week so will try and remember to ask :)

    Ideed !

Some years ago when No 2 daughter was on a special diet, we asked for the vegetarian meal on a flight to Miami, thinking that would be the "safest". She got a bowl of Rice Crispies and an orange. Oranges were disallowed on her diet !

We stocked up in a supermarket for the flight back.

Don't think I would be eating those sandwiches about 24 hours after they were made and not kept in a fridge  i.e when you get to Thailand.

Thanks! That would be really handy if you could. :)

Out of interest, what sort of thing are the non-spicy adult meals?

    That's rubbish! Poor thing...

4YO is so picky he may as well be on a special diet! We've been working really hard to get him trying new things with some degree of success (& I'm hoping Thailand will be 'kill or cure' IYSWIM - not literally tho lol) but I really don't need a meltdown on the plane... :o

If the kids meal was something like chicken nuggets/fish fingers then while not my preferred choice at least I know he'd eat it. I'm a bit worried I'll order it & it will turn out to be ham/cheese sandwich or similar as the only sandwich he'll eat is dairylea spread cheese.

The Pringles would be gone before we'd taxi'd up the runway! :D

I hate travelling long distances with 4yo as I always end up feeding him junk just for convenience sake. If I know I could get him to eat a hot meal on the plane I'd rather do that than feed him crisps & spread cheese sandwiches, but that's probably what I'll end up doing...
