I used to get my gram a really good version of one of her favourite foods. One year I got her a nice piece of realy honeycomb, another year I got her a good bottle of whisky - she was really happy with both of them. Surely your gran has a favourite. A nice bunch of flowers also went down well, although at that age my gran was starting to have trouble looking after her garden so if you get her a plant make sure you can actually plant it for her (just in case!!).What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

What about some theatre tickets and take her to see something you know she will like. I'm over 70 and a meal out or flowers or chocs are always wellcome, but a bottle of vodka is better
Ps, i wouldn't mind a stripogram myself

Probably not as nice as flowers imo but you can get a newspaper for the day she was born.0

At 80 she will probably be inundated with flowers, so won't actually get to appreciate them. I prefer flowers on a"just because I care day".
I go along with the show tickets or National Trust membership or something similar.
Or a luxury item that she would never buy for herself.
My Nan loved hand made chocolates & I would take her to the local deli & she would spend ages choosing a little box of her favourites. She would never have dreamt of treating herself to them even though she more than deserved them.
Or if your Nan really doesn't need-want presents how about a donation to her favourite charity, if she likes animals, you can sponsor an animal and your Nan would receive updates throughout the year about them.
If you live close by, how about making up a token book,
I promise to take you out for a cream tea.
Pay for a haircut
Mow the lawn
Join you for a picnic, etc.
Doesn't have to be expensive things, spending time to her is probably far nicer than the monetary value.
hope you all have a great celebration.0
