Price Changes ..Out of Stock

Hope so one can help me on this one.

Looked at getting a new washing machine on monday and went to the dreaded currys....

Had a 299.99 washing machine advertised on the shop floor for 179.99...wanted to buy it there and then, was told it was out of stock and i wasn't allowed to purchase or reserve one at that price, even tried to blag the manager to let me buy the one on the shop floor but he said as they were receiveing over 1000 by the end of the week he wouldn't let me.

Have now checked the website today (as they said would be back in stock by friday) and now the price is at £249.99.

Any idea where i stand on the price change or just go in the store and battle it out with the manager see if i can get some more discount on it?

Many Thanks

Martin:mad:

    you have no rights
they didnt offer to sell you one at any price
was told it was out of stock and i wasn't allowed to purchase or reserve one at that price,

its common practice that stores sell X amount at a price, then the price changes

I have to agree with Custardy that you have no rights. BUT,

This would constitute an offence under Reg 12 of CPR's. See Schedule 1, no.5. Enforced by Trading Standards.

It was a 7-day deal, expiring Wednesday; and was so popular, that it sold out.

If no goods are available, then you MUST withdraw the offer from display, or fall foul as detailed above.

It wasn't your store, was it?
