Cheaper fares from Fleet, Hampshire to London, Waterloo

Hi guys,

I've read Martin's tips about split fares etc & have spent several hours researching them on the sites he suggests. However the best deal I can get on a return (not same day - returning day afterwards) rail ticket from Fleet in Hampshire to London Waterloo is £25.70. The split ticketing actually worked out more expensive when I asked about Fleet - Woking & Woking - Waterloo. Does anyone know if there is a way to bring this cost down? I'm a musician on a shoestring budget who doesn't have transport (visiting from South Africa), so I really need to save as much as I can! Any tips will be very gratefully received. This is not a route that I would expect split ticketing to work nor are advance fares offered

Where do you actually want to be in London? As a thought an off peak return to Kensington Olympia or West Brompton is £21.90, changing at Clapham Junction.
