Hi All!!
Looking at houses in this area, but not sure what sort of reputation the place has, so would be grateful for any input, from locals, or those that know about the area.
& is there a website, that gives unbiased advice on different places - a bit like the holiday sites, that REAL people post on, to tell REAL truths?
Thanks in advance!!

I live quite near Whittlesey, its like a small village, but its actually a town. Most people who live there tend to work in Peterborough or commute to London. The only problem with the commute, from there, is that the train service isn’t all that regular, I’m not sure on the buses, but most people tend to drive into Peterborough, which the city council don’t like.
For shopping and nightlife, again, most people tend to go to Peterborough, as it’s the nearest city (approx 10 min drive to the centre). Whittlesey has the advantages of being in the countryside, but as Peterborough keeps expanding the green space between the two is shrinking.
Oh, BTW, Whittlesey is not actually in Peterborough, it’s in Fenland, but it just happens to sit right next to the boarder between the two. You could always consider widening your search to my home town of March, as I believe the property prices are lower, the commuting time is not much different (train connections are far better) and its more in the countryside.0 -

I'm not sure if there are any websites that may be of help, but my experience of Whittlesey was quite poor. My ex lived there as he was a teacher at a nearby school. Whittlesey itself doesn't have much in the way of things to do, so there's a fairly large number of bored teenagers hanging about at any one time. OTOH, prices are lower than more built-up areas, and you'll get some space and greenery. Peterborough itself's not so bad, but it's still quite a small town. What are your criteria in finding somewhere to live?2015 comp wins - £370.25

Thanks to everyone who posts freebies and comps! :j0
