There's still a big difference between changing its collateral requirements and printing money and using it to buy government bonds in breach of the law. Why wouldn't Germany just leave the Eurozone and issue a New Deutschmark if the ECB decided to bailout out everyone by printing billions? It would be an admission the euro had failed if the ECB had to resort to that.0 -
According to the BBC a few days back (and I think also in 2005) the constituencies in Sheffield compete to get their results out first (no link sorry). I sincerely hope that people haven't been disenfranchised as the result of a puerile game.0

Some of these people went to vote as early as 7 pm (presumably some people go out to work) and decided to return later because of the queues, are you suggesting everyone should go out to vote at 7am?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. No it is all designed to make sure I do not win my bet  looks like being 65-70% turnout.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. I'd be asking the Police to check the IamPMIam Betfair account if I were you to see if Mr Brown had the other side of your bet.
FWIW I thought you had a decent shot of winning.
I just heard the head of the Electoral Commission on Radio 5. She sounded quite miffed.0 -
Common Purpose behind the fiasco for sure.0

Hundreds disenfranchised in Sheffield and Hackney apparently. Hundreds of postal ballots gone missing in York. This could get messy.
Just what the country doesn't need in the middle of a Sovereign Debt crisis.
What is it with these idiots (not you, the whining voters), they know the time the polls open and close yet they turn up at the last minute then whine about it.
They only have themselves to blame.
They disenfranchised themselves."There's no such thing as Macra. Macra do not exist."
"I could play all day in my Green Cathedral".
"The Centuries that divide me shall be undone."
"A dream? Really, Doctor. You'll be consulting the entrails of a sheep next. "0 -
They could have voted by post or by proxy. They could have turned up well before 10pm seeing as the polling stations opened at 7am, some 15 hours!!! Anyone moaning about not voting only has themselves to blame. Yet again people need to take responsibilty for their own actions but oh no, it's always somebody elses fault.0

I think 7-10 is quite a reasonable time to vote. I would certainly never leave it until anywhere near the 10pm slot - it's called being organised. Typical that people are slating the system when it's quite simple - vote before 10pm - everyone knew the times.
The people effected are probably those that turn up for the 7pm train at 6.55 - sometimes you miss it, sometimes you get it - easy to ensure you get it!!0 -
On the news a lady complained "I've been here since 9.20pm"....
Er.... get out your bed in the morning you lazy muppet...0
