I suppose I shouldn't complain as I got my order and saved over £80(well ,maybe not as a lot of the stuff was over priced anyway ) but I am complaining because it was VERY badly organised ,it was a total farce !!!
Feel so sorry for people who joined early and waited and nothing

Logged in late, but got into the site straight away (around 1pm). Managed to check out but annoyingly 3 of the items were out of stock. Tried to open a new window with the website but it was showing a "busy" message. But still managed to check out with 5 items in the basket, shame I only saved about £10 though. Still 25% off everything later on isn't all that bad, I'm just not sure what stock they'll have left - it may end up looking like a Next sale on Boxing Day!0

was slow loading but held up on checkout (unlike boots 75% off sale) so cant complian at least no timeouts. plus they extended it for 30 mins in end so fair play to em in end, thanks tescoNew year resolution give up smoking. gave up 1/1/10 at 2pm

Once it went live I spent a very frustrating few minutes trying to find the code.
Initially I ignored the codes being posted by other people as there were a number of false codes posted during the morning.
Eventually I decided to try one of the posted codes and it worked.
Had the items in my shopping cart and despite being my first purchase it only took a few minutes to check out.
[I never did find where Tesco posted the code]0 -
I wonder if the different claims put out by Tesco and sites promoting the sale has anything to do with Twitter suspending Tesco's Twitter account?0

Well done to anyone who managed to get an order through, i didn't even try as tesco STILL don't accept visa electron on-line, yet it's ok to use in thier stores, M&S is another.........makes me mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Kat :money:0

I managed to use the 50% off code. I had already filled my basket the night before and parked it up. A lot of people found that their baskets kept emptying themselves on the actual morning, but it was ok if you added and took away and basically modified it every 15 mins or so. Managed to save £45 on holiday clothes for the kids so I was happy.January GC: £64.81/£80.00
February GC: £24.60£80.000 -

From experience, Visa Electron aren't accepted online as you can't check there's funds available, like you can with Visa Debit. I know when I worked in internet mail order they were always declined because of this.0 -
I wasn't gonna bother but then I happened to be on Facebook and realised the sale was on and although the site was painfully slow they added an extra half an hour which I was able to get some clothes for my kids!!! Even better because I work for Tesco I was able to use my staff discount and this meant I actually had 60% off the clothes and with p&p I got £117 worth of clothes for £56!!!0

I know this is somewhat off topic, but try as I might, I simply cannot discover how to start a thread! I've done it before, but the site has changed somewhat since then, so if some kind person could point me in the right direction??? So for now, I'll post my rant here and move it if someone could please tell me how!!!
My Tesco Rant!
I just wanted to make everyone aware of another Tesco sneaky trick. I did my shopping on-line last Thursday and ordered some cheese, a BOGOF offer for Seriously Farmy, 2 for £3.88. The delivery driver did point out, right at the end of the delivery, that I had two substitutions and I just noticed that I had two Mclellands blocks of cheese, instead of the Seriously.
It was a couple of days later that I realized that not only were the two blocks of cheese listed in the substitutions portion at full price, £7.76 but that I had paid £7.36 for the two replacements.
I checked on the Tesco terms and conditions on Sunday and they read:
"If for any reason beyond our reasonable control, we are unable to supply a particular item, we will not be liable to you. We will attempt to deliver a substitute item if an item you have selected is unavailable, unless you request us not to. If the substitute item is more expensive than your selected item we only charge you the price of your
selected item.
Although we will always try to cater for your order, an order of a large
quantity of an item will be fulfilled at the discretion of the store. For
example, if you ordered 10 bottles of wine which would use up all that
store's stock, the store may only deliver 5 bottles"
I copy/pasted this into an email to Tesco and received a rather condescending reply stating the terms and conditions to be as follows:
"If for any reason beyond our reasonable control, we are unable to supply a
particular item, we will not be liable to you. Please note that we will
attempt to deliver substitute lines should selected lines be unavailable
unless you request us not to do so."
The Customer Service Manager suggested that he "was not sure where I got this information from". The terms and conditions had changed; from Sunday to Tuesday!
I also noted that in the substitution portion there is a disclaimer "If we have substituted a more expensive produce than the one you ordered, we will only charge you the price of your ordered item+". This is then appendixed via the + to the last page of the delivery note where Tesco state that "Substitute products of link-save and multi-buy offers, ... are not included".
What a cheek!
I am certain that I have received higher priced substitutes for BOGOFs from Tesco, and Asda as well.
I have spent a good deal of time writing emails and responding to some quite rude insuations, such as the one above. I also telephoned Tesco and the operator there told me that Tesco DO honour the BOGOF in cases of substitution.
They have now refunded me the whole amount of £7.76 AND sent me a voucher for free delivery. However, I feel that people should be warned of this as many of us simply do not check the prices of substitutions in the rush to get the stuff unpacked and in my case, to hurry the movement of the delivery van as I live in a narrow lane, and one of my neighbours was waiting to get by.
Also, from now on, I shall uncheck the 'allow substitutions' box when on-line shopping so that this does not happen again.
Incidentally, I indicated that my "faith in Tesco" had not been restored as my email correspondent had hoped; and this evening I received a telephone call from Tesco to answer a survey about Tesco and my experiences with them - I answered quite truthfully that on a scale of 1 - 10 for recommending Tesco I would give them a 5, I was then asked if I would be willing to complete further telephone surveys to which I answered yes.Ooh, I've gotta little star! What's that for then?!!0
