Hey there,

Me and my partner have just bought our first home together and really need some help as to where we look/find out the best gas and electricty supplier for us. If it helps, we are having a 2bed end terrace!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Here's Martin's article. However you will need to find some way of estimating how much gas and electricity you'll use. I think some of the comparison sites will estimate it by asking you questions about the size of house, number of occupants etc.

    Uswitch see http://www.simplyswitch.com/energy-consumption.html estimate
15000kWh for gas and 4000lWh for electricity

Could that be a reasonable starting point?

I'd say that might be a bit high - two of us in our three-bed end terrace use 14400 a year gas and 2800 a year electricity - and we use a LOT of electricity :)

There lies another question. Is it better to over-budget at first to avoid being caught out in presrnt circumstances of underpaying and having bothe that and increased prices to deal with in year two?
