Paypal question - bounced payment???

Hi,
I paid for an item bought on ebay and paid via paypal a couple of weeks ago. The seller marked item as payment received. However, when paypal went to take the money from my bank account there wasn't enough money (39p short in my bank account, which landed me a nice £38 bank charge, thanks RBoS!).

My question is what do i do? Will the buyer get his cash? do i need to transfer cash into my paypal account or will paypal try to take the money again?

Thanks in advance,
Damo

Check your paypal account to see what happened there. See if the payment actually went through - I imagine it did.

My balance is at minus figure so I think it did - will paypal take the money it's owed automatically?

Surely if you're at minus figures, paypal HAS taken what it's owed?

The balance is a minus figurre so I'm guessing they have paid my seller and I owe them the £7.
  • If you were 39p short why is your PayPal account saying -£7.00?

Thanks for all the replies so far - sorry if i haven't been clear but i'll summarise:

I bought something from ebay for £7
    Seller received his £7
Paypal tried to get the £7 from by bank account and failed due to there being only £6.61 there
My paypal account balance is showing as -£7

I have made sure there is enough money in my account should paypal attempt to take the money again.

My question is will they try again, or will I need to transfer money into my paypal account?

    Thanks for you patience guys,

    Damo
  • I would guess that you would need to add funds to your PayPal account to bring the balance back into positive figures.
