backup data to an external drive or dvd first, it wipes everything.

The link was a full keyboard, you may be able to get individual keys and clips elsewhere, and cheaper.

When you take it apart, check the ribbon cable for the mouse button is seated correctly, it's either that or a stuck/dirty/broken microswitch, or misaligned broken bit of plastic under the button.

Thanks, you've just saved me ££s, can buy the keys and cribs for a couple of pounds off ebay, I'll do as you suggested to speed it up and maybe sort the mouse (take it apart?!?) or live with it! Who needs a new laptop, eh? Cheers x

How to use erecovery to backup/create system recovery discs, and restore the factory image.

If you don't have office already, use this to read the word doc.

You do understand all your data (pictures/files/docs/music/bookmarks etc) and any additional programs you have installed will be gone after a factory restore (so you need to backup externally first (and check the backup has worked) if you want to keep any data)

Yes thanks, using it as an opportunity to have a computer spring clean so just sorting out what I need to keep!

OK, just making sure, be careful with flash drives if that is your backup medium, they can get corrupted easily.
