Renting out car space taking 6 months rent up front
Hi all,
I wasn't sure where to post this so please forgive me if it is in the wrong place I have also posted on the 'Up your income' board but I have not received any replies.
My husband is trying to rent out a car parking space in London as he will be driving to work now. The person whom he wishes to rent from which he found through park at my house website has asked for 6 months upfront. I was just wondering if this was the norm.
Also we are want to rent out our garage so were wondering whether this was something we could do too.
Thanks in advance

Make sure they actually own the property & not coming to the end or a short rent/lease.
That would be my concern. Turn up one day & find someone else living there.
You could rent out your own garage, I rented private garages before when i saw a car i wanted at the right price but didnt need just yet and no space to put it.
Need to be clear on what is allowed and not allowed. Can they service the car in the garage? Any repair works even small ones, change a bulb or light?
If so times allowed.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Agree with forgotmyname. Could be worth spending £3 on a Land Registry search. The man without a signature.0 -
Thank you guys so much, i didn't think of that, we are going to do a search today.
Can I ask where you rented your garage from, was it a website? THe site my husband is using chargers the owner 15% which I think is high. But I suppose having a middle person gives you peace of mind0 -
Having a middleman wouldnt put my mind at rest. Look at how many national newspapers have fake adverts for goods. Adverts being paid for my stolen credit cards.
Think it was on watchdog?
Will the company check the persons details? I could rent your house from you & get a credit card in your name, very easy if you lived there.
Pay their charge rent it out to several people take payments and be gone before monday morning when you and 10 others try and share one driveway.
Do i always see the pitfalls and not the good bits? I blame society.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
