Just found this one quickly whilst doing some college work, it's been narking me for a while since I always hate looking for things when I prefer to click to open straight away.
If you ever want to put a specific location on the locations (left-hand side) when you go to File > Open in Microsoft Office do the following
I'm not an office developer so don't know if it's possible to remove the system ones. My recent documents gets on my nerves a lot as I want to remove it. I suspect it's possible by registry editing or modifying an XML file but I'm not that clued up on office
If anyone here knows how this is done please feel free to let me know, because clicking on the "my recent documents" doesn't half get on my nerves when I do it by accident and I'd appreciate it
If you ever want to put a specific location on the locations (left-hand side) when you go to File > Open in Microsoft Office do the following
- Click File - Open (within your program)
- Navigate to the folder / location you want the shortcut to and open it
- Right click in the empty white space on the left, choose "add....."
- Shortcut will appear, right click it and rename as desired
- Reorder the shortcuts as wanted, and remove as necessary
