    Hi,

I did the same. Totally different signature to normal.

    Hope it's ok.

Many thanks everyone, I sent the cheque off and did just that - kind of printed my name and used a different slant to my usual handwriting as well.

Ha, now let them try and nick my signature - that will be a blatant forgery then!

Thanks again and to NID by pm, whose advice was the same :)

    Hiya

Yep - we agreed on this via PM, we'll no doubt be speaking again when the CCA comes back lol. I'll subscribe here so update this thread when you hear back from them.

For the benefit of others, a bank does not check payments under their usual floor limit so most cheques under £100 will not be checked - yes, the odd few do get selected for spot checks by the bulk processing centre but this is extremely rare. Therefore change hands or just print your name - it is fine. The bank would ring you to check before bouncing it, but point is the lender cannot copy a dodgy signature and if they do then you'll have them over a barrel which is a good thing to fight for, especially when considering unenforceability.

    Keep us updated. :D
