CCA request - signature

Hi All,

Sorry this is such a basic question but I'm a little confused.

Obviously the CCA request should not be signed, but digital name print to avoid them copying your signature onto an application form if they can't find the original one.

However if I send a cheque, my signature will be on that. Can they use that against me at all? Just not easy to get to a PO to get a postal order for me, that's all.

Thanks DL, but it's not easy for me to get to a PO to get a postal order, so much easier for me to write a £1 cheque.

Any thoughts on sellotaping a pound coin to my CCA request???? !

Ummmmmmmm dont think thats a good thing!!!! Do you have a joint account with a partner/OH? If so and they are not included in the debt get them to sign a cheque! no signature then.Best of luck.DL.

No, I don't have anyone else to send a cheque unfortunately.

In the CCA templates never-in-doubt fabulously put together for everyone, it does mention paying by cheque. But I just wondered if anyone can verify that it really IS ok to do that, given the concerns over them using it against you..

You could always PM NID and ask the question. I have read that some companies have scanned signatures.DL.

you could always sign the cheque but either add a letter or change it some way so you know if they have copy and pasted it hope this helps

If you have to send a cheque - sign it....but not your regular signature....just sort of print/sign it. I can guarantee the bank will not pull out a cheque for £1 and query it so you are safe doing this.

Many thanks everyone, I sent the cheque off and did just that - kind of printed my name and used a different slant to my usual handwriting as well.

Ha, now let them try and nick my signature - that will be a blatant forgery then!
