Where can I buy rubber seal?

I have a small Fridgidaire chest freezer in the garage, ok its rather old but works perfectly apart from some of the seal. I have telephoned some repair shops and they tell me that it is no longer possible to buy the seal. I find this ridiculous, so I have to throw away a perfectly good freezer because I can't buy a bit of rubber seal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please has anyone got any ideas where I might buy some?

You could try contacting the manufacturer direct. Sometimes they are very helpful in acquiring parts. Write them a suck-up letter about how long you've had their appliance and how wonderfully reliable it's been, how much you'd hate to part with it etc. They might send you a part or help you find one for the good PR.

If you really can't buy replacement seals anymore maybe you could find a chest freezer the same size where some other part, eg the compressor, has gone but the seal is still good and take the seal off. You could try your local tip or freecycle etc.
