Google Autofill, other people using PC,and credit card refusal

Options
I have several credit cards, use 2 or 3 of them and always pay them off monthly. My credit rating is good- never been refused credit- and had recently applied for a money back credit card. I had a letter refusing it and advising me to check what was held in my records by Experian and Equifax. I did so and found that their was a search under my name with my daughter's date of birth.

My daughter is 30, permanently overdrawn and has always lived with me. She uses my computer for odds and ends and had decided to apply for her first credit card.

In her online search she completed the form with her own details and somehow managed to send it showing my name and her date of birth. I put this down to to the fact that I have Google Autofill to complete online forms -I find it a godsend never to have to type my address etc. I think my daughter managed to hit the Autofill key when completing her form and failed to notice the name was wrong, although she corrected the dob.

I have written to Experian and Equifax, explaining the problem and hopefully they will erase the record. This just to warn anyone who has Autofill on a PC that other family members use. Mistakes can cause problems.

Are you sure it was google's Autofill, and not the one that coems with IE? http://experts.about.com/q/Microsoft-Internet-Explorer-1054/autofill-problem.htm

    Thanks.
It is the Google Autofill one. You pre-populate it with your data and can include credit card numbers. i never do that as it falls outside my risk acceptabilty level
. As I understand it the one built in to IE is Autocomplete- I use this at work where we have masses of initials for things.
With Google you have to click a button to make it fill the form- with Autocomplete it would fill the form with your pre set data whoever was typing.

Autofill should in theory be foolproof - just in this instance it caused problems with my credit history. And it could for anyone with other folks using their PC who are as slipshod as my daughter
