Im sure your all fed up hearing this, but. I installed Ubuntu side by side with my current XP. It automatically partitioned my hard drive to accommodate it. I then decided I don't like it but Im unable to uninstall it. No matter where I look no ones instructions seem to work!
Booting up is also tricky now as there is something at startup called 'grub' which defaults to Ubuntu unless you catch it in time to select XP.
Can anyone please help. I want to remove startup Grub, Ubuntu o/s, and reclaim back all my harddrive by removing the partition.

You can go into Windows and delete the Ubuntu partition (Computer Management) and then do a repair install to replace GRUB with the Windows boot loader. You use an XP boot CD for the repair."Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect." - Mark Twain0

Boot from your Windows CD, select the Recovery Console option, and type in fixmbr \Device\HardDisk0
Replace the device with whatever drive Ubuntu is on.
That should restore the Windows bootloader, once in Windows you can use the Disk Management tool to reformat the Ubuntu partition.0 -
For reference in future for others maybe, it may be useful to note that simply putting a Ubuntu Desktop (Live) CD into the CD drive while actually running Windows will present options which include installing into Windows as a Windows application. This is safe and easy because no partitions are changed, it also uses the Windows boot loader, which means that when un installing Ubuntu, there is no linux boot loader to remove.
The WUBI facility is included in the Live CD, so although WUBI can be downloaded separately, this is not needed if you have a CD.0 -
Wubi was my first flirtation with ubuntu. Never looked back!I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0
