Hi, I could use some help and advice please.
I have been claiming contribution based JSA since end of October 2009, following redundancy. That company offered me 2-3 days work last week which I took. I understand that I won't receive JSA for last week as I earnt more than the allowance and that's only fair. However, I actually worked 20 hours and I don't know how to handle it...
I don't know whether to just charge them for 15.5 hours or whether to charge 20 hours and then have to sign off and sign back on again. Does that just carry your claim on or does it start as a new claim? I really don't know the impact of it.
I have my 6 month review tomorrow and as a single person I think this means I will then get income-based JSA. Can anyone confirm please?
I have been keeping afloat with savings/redundancy but it's nearly all gone so I have been looking into what I can do about mortgage payments to try and keep my house. On income based JSA you are able to claim Support with Mortgage Interest (SMI) after 13 weeks. As I have been claiming for 26 weeks on contribution based will I still have to wait another 13 weeks or will it kick in any earlier?

You cannot charge them for less hours than you worked. That would be fraud.
Charge them for the correct hours and do a rapid reclaim the next week.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Blimey, I didn't consider it could be classed as fraudulent if I claimed less than I worked, only more. Thanks for pointing that out.0

Speak to your adviser as it's possible that the work that you did last week didn't all fall into the same "JSA claim week"0
