Chronic Rhynitis here also. I was recommended to do this forever after my last sinus surgery and removal of polyps. This is what was recommended:

I would be interested in the recipe on an nhs site to save money on the sachets!

This is what my dh uses and was advised to by his consultant after his last lot of sinus surgery (at least one more to come:(). The hospital gave him a sheet with the recipe on, it's basically salt and bi-carb in boiled water.

I've been looking online for the site, I saw last time but can't find it:mad:

Claire's link is similar. Don't anyone get baking soda (bicarb) mixed up with baking powder though, they're different. Bicarb is what you neeed, baking powder has other ingredients added.

I have also done this using a large dropper/pipette type thing and homemade saline solution. Just hang head over the sink and turn to the side. Gently squeeze solution up one nostril til it comes out the other then swap sides. I did this often when suffering with post nasal drip. Be careful not to make the solution too salty otherwise you nose will start to nip when it dehydrates.
