Hi me again will keep bombarding with questions if thats ok?
Scared and just want to go into my DMP with eyes open. Has anyone organised a DMP with RBS and Capital one (biggest debt with RBS roughly 20k)? Worried about scary stories of CCJs dont want to end up with a charging order on the house as do have a bit of equity on it but the mortgage is Joint and the debts are mine.0 -
I'm on a DMP with Payplan and have found them great most of the time. Over 4 years there has been the odd glitch (mainly due to bank holidays and payments being late as a result) but like others have recommended make sure the date your creditors expect the money by is around 2 weeks after your payment goes to payplan. I've never had a problem with their hard sale routine although to be honest I'm quite anti-social and contact them via email, even completing my yearly review myself and letting them know I've done it! They are quite happy to do it this way.
If you are unsure about payplan give some of the other such as CCCS a ring and see who you like best.
As for RBS and Capital 1, of my 15 creditors I had no problems with these at all. In fact they are pretty much the only ones who haven't moved the debt to a DCA. My debt to RBS with 2 accounts is £14K and I now make monthly payments of £50 which they have accepted and have stopped the interest.
My biggest/only problem was with HFC who did get a CCJ and a charging order. If this happens don't worry you can get through it and it's really not that bad. Just post on here and there's always someone around to help.
Good luck, it will be tough but worth it when everything is up and running in a couple of months
One day I will be debt free and fat free!:grinheart0 -
RBS were fine with me and froze the interest. HFC were also good, they were the creditor who put me on to Payplan (Lloyds TSB were trying to get me to take out a secured loan with them to clear my debts!). After six months of regular payments to HFC, they turned the debt into an zero percent, unsecured loan.
Back to payplan - I'm all but at the end of my DMP, could have paid it all off at the end of April but they won't update my outstanding payments to reflect the true amounts outstanding, even though I've sent them scans of the latest statements. All they keep saying is that they've passed it to 'terms' - anyone know what 'terms' is?0
